EDP Setup
The evolvement of telecommunication and computer technology
and its applications during 1980's was a blessing for the engineering
service companies. During 1990's, information technology and
its applications gave thrust to the speed at which data exchange
was carried out. This has provided additional tools for us to
improve on various parameters through ' on line ' contact with
our offices, sites, and available databases within India and
now with Chematur Engineering AB, Sweden and other group company
too. |
| We at IBI Chematur have adapted to the
"state-of-the-art" technology by developing and incorporating
appropriate hardware and software systems up-gradation for optimization
of our engineering services. We have also restructured our CAD
system to install 3D-plant design and piping for all our future
projects. A number of our engineers are sent abroad to participate
in discussions with licensers and vendors. This has enhanced
our engineering skills, broadened our outlook and sharpened
our approach to effective project implementation. Computers
are now being utilized in all areas of company operations. However,
the main emphasis has been in detail engineering and project
management related activities. The main usage areas are: |

| Generation of specifications
and Bill of Quantities through interactive Databases. |
| Technical and economic Feasibility
studies. |
| Communication links through
FAX, EMAIL and INTERNET have also been established to keep pace
with emerging Technology. We have ISDN & Lease Line setup
to facilitate fast exchange of voice and data files. |
| To take full advantage of the
technological advances in the field of engineering and related
software we have constantly up-graded our operating softwares.
Additional software can be installed for establishing common
platform for data exchange. |
